Developed for Crumpler in collaboration with Awful Studios, this seasonal sticker commission explores perception, distortion, and graphic play through a reimagining of the brand’s visual language. The project appropriates the familiar geometry of the barcode, stretching and compressing it to form a refracted version of the Crumpler logotype.
Legibility shifts with perspective. When viewed obliquely, the workmark resolves with clarity; when seen head-on, it collapses into abstraction. This deliberate optical ambiguity transforms a utilitarian graphic device into an experiential moment—an illusion that rewards movement, curiosity, and attention.
Referencing the visual humour of internet culture—where images reveal themselves only when viewed from a precise angle—the sticker operates at the intersection of brand, meme, and graphic experiment. The result is a playful yet considered intervention that invites engagement while subtly reframing how the Crumpler identity can be seen, read, and experienced
